Kometa Shopping Centre with the Breem In-Use certificate
The Kometa Shopping Center is an environmentally friendly facility managed in accordance with the sustainable development policy, which is confirmed by the BREEAM-In-Use ecological certificate awarded to the center with an ‘Excellent’ rating in both Asset Rating and Building Management categories.
The Breem rating system has been in place in the UK for over 20 years. Sustainable construction certificates are a sign of global changes and a modern international development policy aimed at reducing energy consumption and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. This policy has been developed in the countries of the European Union for years. Currently, the idea of sustainable development is entering Poland. The Breem In-Use certificate is awarded to existing facilities that meet stringent environmental and social requirements. Several dozen factors are assessed, including: energy efficiency of the facility, waste management, reduction of pollutant emissions, transport accessibility, and facilities for guests and employees.
The Kometa Shopping Center promotes pro-ecological activities by organizing campaigns aimed at customers, such as “Be Eco”, in which one could receive eco-friendly bags for reusable fruit and vegetables, the campaign “Segregation because it’s worth it”, introducing the topic of waste segregation and caring for the environment.
The KOMETA Shopping Center offers its customers bicycle parking lots for 20 bicycles. If necessary, customers can also use a self-service bicycle repair station equipped with a set of repair tools and a pump.
In the parking lot of the center there is also a station belonging to the TORVELO System – Toruński Rower Miejski.
